CFSA December Update
CFSA WINTER CLASSIC
CrossFit St Albans is excited to bring you our seasonal throwdown, the Winter Classic. We’ve been inundated with sign ups and we are pleased to confirm over 25 teams competing at the event on Saturday 8thDecember.
All are welcome to come and cheer on our athletes and help judge, officiate and eat the mince pies.
We ask all teams to be at the box at 9am sharp for the competitor briefing and a prompt start to the competition. Sadly if you’re late, we must start without you.
If you’ve ordered a Winter Classic t-shirt, you’ll be able to collect it on the day.
For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to coach Claudia.
CFSA MEMBERS CLEAN UP AT COMPETITIONS
This month we celebrate the successes of our members, whose hard work has paid off on the podium.
Sheryll Pak recently competed at the British Weightlifting Competition in Aylesbury, achieving a 133kg PB total and qualifying for the English Championships in Milton Keynes on January 19th.
Weighing in at 53kg she achieved a 60kg snatch and 73kg cean and jerk.
Elsewhere, Alex Clementson and Ben Dye won first and second place in a mixed pairs competition in Watford this month.
And coach Ben Pitt took first place, with his team mate, in the Battle for Middle Ground, Elite 75+ division.
CFSA COACH FOCUS
This month, our attention turns to coach Paul Stocker.
Stocker comes from a sporting background of national level ice hockey and marathon running.
After qualifying as a personal trainer, Paul began one to one coaching at London Bridge Fitness First, and set up West End bootcamp company ‘The Punch’. But Paul found CrossFit and wanted to get stuck in, so sought out CrossFit Central London. It’s here where he started as a intern and gained his level 1 CrossFit certificate. Years later, Paul also took his level 2 qualification.
Outside of CrossFit, Paul is an actor and even has his own Instagram fan page! He’s starred on stage and appeared in many TV shows.
Stocker also runs the popular Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club at CFSA on Sundays. He’s a Blue Belt in the martial art and welcomes CFSA members of any level or experience to come along.
You can contact Paul on email@example.com.
Our Christmas opening hours are now confirmed.
We are running a reduced schedule around the festive week, with classes at midday, 5 and 6pm on 27thand 28thDecember.
We ask that members who wish to come to class or attend open gym BOOK INTO WODIFY before they make the journey, and check for updates on the Facebook group page during instances of severe weather.
