I initially heard about CrossFit through social media and seeing these crazy workouts with barbells, burpees and kettlebells. Trying to copy some of these workouts at a ‘globo gym’ was a nightmare because every time I moved from one piece of equipment to another it had been stolen and my workout ruined! Then I found out CrossFit St Albans was opening a few buildings from my work and I was in there every day asking when it would open.
I was in the very first trial class and it opened my eyes to my fitness levels, I was nearly sick – but hooked. I signed up there and then and in the last 16 months I have progressed from using a blue band for pull ups to doing bar muscle ups.
I have recently become a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and have been shadow coaching to help others progress their fitness and discover what their bodies are capable of. I am really looking forward to start coaching and running class at CrossFit St Albans from May.
